I've lost sympathy for Brody after he shot that deer - that was a despicable thing to do, not just the poor deer itself but Chris was really upset as he's obviously a sensitive little boy who likes animals. Can't think why Jessica would expect her husband to be some sort of sex machine after having been held captive for the best part of a decade - silly woman....

Was it really or was it just an excuse to kill something/someone and let off some steam?

I agree. She wasn't being reasonable. She honestly can't expect him to get back to 'normal' so quick.

I love flowers, but I love animals more.

I thought it was a bit slow tonight - too much on Brody's relationship with his wife.

I was hoping when Carrie was alone in the garage that she would somehow put a camera in there.

Also, I didn't understand the bit where the guy living by the airport was told by his wife to drive past their house. Surely the guys who were following him would follow him until he eventually went home. Instead they just gave up and crossed him off their list of suspects.

Thanks for that. Will trust your judgement but to me (at the moment) she doesn't get our sympathy. We should surely be backing her but actually I want him to get away with whatever he is/isn't doing! I just find her annoying.

:D So do I, but Claire is very good at portraying an annoying person.

Maybe she doesn't deserve our sympathy. In Homeland it's not a simple case of Good vs Evil and there are people with different motivations and loyalties on both sides. It would be a less interesting show if Carrie was your stereotypical Hollywood blonde secret agent who single handedly saves the world in time to pick her kids up from school.

theonlyweeman 11-03-2012 22:33

I think the whole point in shooting the dear was to show us how cold and detatched he's become. And how much he's longing for everything to go back to normal, but he knows that no matter how hard he tries nothing will ever be the same again.

I'm probably reading into it too much though.

.

Who tipped her off? There must be a mole in the department.

Is it just me or does the episode just fly by in that 1 hour slot. It feels so short. I'm now desperate to see the next episode! Lol.

They didn't realise he was going 'home' because they think his home is an apartment (hence they had an overnight team staked out watching the apartment) - it was important that they did not find out that he actually lives in this house too, which appears to be a front for something, hence his 'wife' panicking and rushing to make sure that he didn't stop at the house..

Thanks. Now it makes sense.

If Carrie and Brodie have an affair...I'm out of this 'Soap'.

Not interested in the love lives of characters. This may go the way of Lost

No probs. What doesn't make so much sense on reflection is that fact that Carrie and her side-kick (can't remember his name) didn't think "Hold on a minute - this car trip is a bit convoluted and strange - is he leading us a bit of a dance? Why the detour through the housing estate?"

Maybe that is because it is only 47 minutes?

50 Minutes in the US. But then there is the whole PAL "speed-up" issue.

lesleyanne 12-03-2012 00:35

Did anything significant happen in the last few minutes? My recording stopped before the end credits, when Carrie and Brody had just started talking in the car park.

galaxy99 12-03-2012 07:51

did the storm have any significance,as she jumped up when it started?

haphash 12-03-2012 09:54

I missed the first part of the series but I saw last weeks episode and last nights. Damien Lewis is fantastic in this - he is such a good actor.

Is there any way I can watch the beginning of the series?

catch up on 4od

jediknight2k1 12-03-2012 10:18

A slow episode but again Damian Lewis was just great.

Brody obviously knows about his wife and Mike going by the conversation in the car, he was trying to get Mike to own to up it but he got out of giving him a confession.

Shooting the deer shows that he emotionally distant from his family. His wife was upset as he fired the weapon when they had a full house a guests and scared their soon. If Brody has been turned into an assassin then using a gun in public will the likely method. I do wonder if he killed it because his son would have been close to Mike while he captured.

The end was a bit boring and maybe Carrie was just putting on act to try and get information as there was some mind games going on.

To answer the question above then if you missed it there is 4 OD to catch up :D

He's good at the accent it's just the one they have chosen him to have that I find annoying. He doesn't sound like his wife or best friend. Not sure what state it is supposed to be from but I don't like it.
