I'm just glad to see Ch4 promoting a top US show week in week out! This doesn't normally happen. Hope the finale gives the channel top ratings but seeing how it's on at the same time as the semi-finals of BGT it's not going to happen.

Glomper 06-05-2012 12:48

Damian Lewis & Claire Danes have talent.

BGT doesn't.

Simple choice.

Britain's got Talent alright-but the Talent is playing
Brody on "Homeland". :D

What I can't believe is that Channel 4 are actually showing an Advert for a frigging Advert, do we really need ads for other ads.

Speaking of which....I attended a Jaguar cars track day on Friday...and one of the marketing bods informed us they were launching a new add campaign...and the first airing of these ads will take place during the final episode of Homeland.....Oh and this car is fecking awesome on the track....510bhp of intoxicating heaven.....and after several laps behind the wheel we were shown how it should be driven on the track by a pro driver....an experience never to be forgotten.

I don't really care though because -

a) I'll never be able to afford one and
b) I'll never in my life get to drive one

mal2pool 06-05-2012 17:08

Scary thing is there will be lots of people like Brody in those countries that are being attacked by the west.....this is what could happen.

MrSuper 06-05-2012 18:09

Good evening!

Just having some Yorkshire Gold Tea until the finale! ;):D;)

Not wishing to stray off topic from the Homeland thread.....but if you'v got a spare £150 I can point you in the direction of a Jaguar forum that has a few spare and subsidised places on an official Jaguar track day.

So long as your over 28yrs of age and have no more than 6pt's on your license then you will be able to drive one of these cars......and you'll step out of the car with the broadest of smiles....Yes, they are dream cars.....but you can drive one, along with the other sporty Jags in the range, for a relatively small outlay.

Anyway....back to Homeland....only 3 hrs to go before we discover whose speculation was closest to the mark.

Good evening everyone.Been looking forward to the finale, but a bit sad that it is over after tonight. What is sunday evening going to be like:)

SparklingEyes 06-05-2012 20:39

I have been happy and sad all day.
I can't begin to describe how excited I am about watching the final; but after this episode there will be literally nothing to watch for me. This is the only programme I am watching at the moment. What will I do now?

big24fan 06-05-2012 21:01

Everyone enjoy the finale tonight, likely to be the last new episode shown on channel 4. This show will be on SKY somewhere next season.

Tons of great shows on DVD/Blu-ray.

MissDexter 06-05-2012 21:03

The guy said The X-Files is on in an hour but my Sky Guide says Homeland is 1h 45m???

Well the last episode of Homeland is 1 hour 24 minutes without adverts so the X files is definitely not on at 10pm.

If you have this confirmed somewhere can you provide a link.
It does seem unlikely when Sky Arts have picked up the Israeli drama that was the inspiration for Homeland , that said they did the same thing with In Treatment.

It's not confirmed but likely. With Sky loosing some big shows this year they'll be looking for something new to boost the number of Sky subscribers, just like 24 and Lost before it I believe Homeland will go to Sky. Channel 4 better be prepared to shell out the dosh if it wants to keep this show.

tally 06-05-2012 21:20

Even though I just couldn't wait and d/l the last 4 episodes, I cannot miss a second watch of the finale. It's not the same watching on your pc.

All I can say is this is THE best series I can remember watching in years. Totally brilliant acting, Clare Danes is particuarly excellent, brilliant scriptwriting, direction, production. The whole package.

Maybe it's as well we dont get quality like this more often, maybe we wouldn't appreciate it as much. But I am just so thankful that C4 bought it. I've been hooked since 5minutes into Episode 1.

How on earth will they keep the standard in series 2?

Glomper 06-05-2012 21:20

Homeland is indeed on for 1hr 45mins, just re-checked my listings and PVR's.

There is a repeat Monday night if the ending is missed on any.

I'm now unsubscribing from this thread, until I have watched Homeland tomorrow, and ignoring all TV references to it, as much as I can.

Then I'll re-subscribe for comments.

It was 'rumoured' that C4 had a lifetime deal for the drama but so far I have seen nothing confirming either a Sky acquisition or C4 long term deal.

Sadly for the multitude of non Sky Subscribers Sky do have amazingly deep pockets when they go cherry picking that no other company can usually afford to match...enough reason for Sky to have it's licence revoked IMHO but hey if it were up to me I'd nationalise the a-holes...................:D

OOh Brody got caught out by his daughter, still not sure if Brody is good or bad...?

big24fan 06-05-2012 21:33

The pace isn't flowing as well with all these adverts, hopefully the last 40 minutes are uninterrupted, when I watched this episode last week it played like a movie (without the bloody breaks).

I think he's one of the good ones but has been influenced by his Islamic captor, Nazir.
He knows he has to die for his cause and it's tearing him up to have to leave his family.

Did the video at the start not help you with that question?
