Worst remake?
 

I hereby nominate as the absolute worst remake of all time, and there are some very bad ones, the Christian remake of Vanishing Point.

I wonder if anyone else has a candidate for the title.

he took a good movie, turned it to a complete crapfest. not the first time he has done this in his career.

Agreed, one of the worst films I've ever seen and don't even get me started on the ending:mad:

Have there been any good remakes? I can't think of any, maybe Dawn of the Dead -that was ok:confused:

John Carpenter's The Thing is usually held up as a successful, superior remake and I agree.

The Fog remake is beyond awful.

king kong is one i can think of that was not bad

However the prequel come remake of the Carpenter version wasn't very good at all.

Not a big fan of the Halloween or Nightmare on Elm Street remakes.

The Amityville Horror

Not sure how the movie panned out as I turned it off after about 10 minutes.

Yeah they were shite especially Elm Street which was far darker than the originals.

I did quite enjoy the Friday 13th remake though; at least that was in the same spirit of the original films with plenty of t&a and gore:D

Its a shame about Nightmare on elm Street because Jackie Earle Haley had a really good stab at the part.

I like the Halloween remake. Really dislike the Friday the 13th remake, however.

but saying that, The Passion Of The Christ was nowhere near as funny as the original Life Of Brian!

King Kong was awful I think, the CGI despite being very good, did not justify that film's length or weak plot.

I'd say the Karate Kid remake is ok, Ocean's 11 is probably the best remake of all time in my opinion.

the hitcher was also shite!

my favourite remake has to be the batmans - possibly because christian bale has been the best batman in my eyes.

I am keen to see the red dawn remake though when its released.

and im going to assume the dirty dancing and point break remakes are gunna suck!

Day of the dead remake,just brutal lol yeah i agree with The Fog to,it was terrible and the original was one of my favourite carpenter movies.
