What is your favourite game of all time?

So if you had a gun to your head and had to pick only one game in your gaming history what would it be?

Personally it's probably just about Mass Effect.

Remember - THERE CAN BE ONLY ONE :D

Why don't you just ask all the parents to pick their favourite child while you're at it, or for my missus to pick her favourite cat!

If you're asking me right now I'd probably say Skyrim, ask me tomorrow and I might change my mind.

For sheer replay value (ive had out if it anyway), I'd have to say Star trek : BOTF

Such a great question mine has to be Shenmue, the series changed gaming for the better in my opinion.

Zelda Skyward Sword is certainly one of the most fun gaming experiences I've had but in terms of how much I've played it and how I still consider it a minor masterpiece to this day I would say Forza Motorsport 4. I'm not even a petrol-head IRL and would never of thought one of my favourite games of all time would be a "boring" racing simulator lol but the truth is I never do get bored with it and have never played such a deep racing game or appreciated one on the same level as this.

daytona usa,....

many happy memories of southport, fish and chips and a pink and white

simple, yet compelling

barracuda91 18-12-2012 19:43

Extremely difficult but I'd say Mass Effect 2. Admittedly though I haven't played it for ages because I'm scared I won't enjoy it as much because of Mass Effect 3. Gotta let the wounds heal a bit longer :(

sheep88 18-12-2012 20:14

FFX for me hands down used to play it over and over.

tombigbee 18-12-2012 20:52

I think Broken Sword is one of my favourite games. It can't compete with the likes of FIFA or COD4 in terms of how much gaming time I've put into it but I just loved it from start to finish. Great story, atmosphere, puzzles. Was gutted when it ended.

The original Rayman for the ps1. It used to have me in awe

Legend of Zelda: Link to the past. And for all you lot that think Ocarina of Time is better, pah! :p

Vast_Girth 18-12-2012 21:29

Planescape Torment

Frost21 18-12-2012 21:30

My best game of all time is World of Warcraft (Vanilla + TBC).

Honorable mentions to

Warcraft 2 & 3
Starcraft 1
Diablo 1 & 2
Myth 1 & 2
Fallout 1 & 2
Discworld 1 & 2
Medieval Total War
Zelda: Ocarina of Time
Half Life 1 & 2 + Counter Strike

Sensible Soccer

Banjo-Kazooie

It's perfect in every way.

lordOfTime 18-12-2012 22:59

Some very good choices out there! Banjo Kazooie would be a worthy choice out there.

There are so many games I want to pick, mostly for N64, but I simply have to shoot for Goldeneye 007.

HelloRain 18-12-2012 23:41

Final Fantasy 9.

Si_Crewe 19-12-2012 00:12

I think I'd have to say "Emperor: Battle for Dune".

Been a big James Herbert fan for years and it was great fun to be able to play "Command & Conquer" in the Dune universe.

There are plenty of other games (Half Life 2, Far Cry 2, GTA: San Andreas spring to mind) that I was probably more taken with while I was playing them but, at the end of the day, I still think nothing of wasting a couple of hours a night playing a skirmish battle of E: BFD, 15 or so years after it was released.

PunksNotDead 19-12-2012 06:27

Final Fantasy VII

bottleofbest 19-12-2012 07:00

Altered beast on the Megadrive. Purely nostalgic reasons, it takes me back to being a kid.

Chriss234 19-12-2012 10:50

Bioshock.

mattlewis86 19-12-2012 10:57

Wow difficult I only really play FIFA's and COD these days, however I think overall it has to be the first Metal Geard Solid on the PS one. It was absolutely brilliant, when I first got it as a kid I spent hours on it!

Daryl Dark 19-12-2012 11:19

Yeah Metal Gear Solid was amazing when I first played it and was right up there

SilverCrown 19-12-2012 11:24

Tough choice!

I think because of how much I liked the story, I'll have to go with Final Fantasy XIII. Not a lot of people would pick it, but I loved the game.
