Farewell Part 9, you served us well! :)

Read those rumours about Defoe, Pee. Better not be true. He's out of form at the moment, but we need him fit.

According to these, we are looking at two strikers. Hooper at Celtic, and Heung-Min Son from Hamburg.

Not convinced on either.

AVB was apparently spotted at the last Celtic game watching Hooper. It's one thing to score goals in the SPL playing for the dominant team but he will find it a big step up to play in the Premiership.

Heung-Min smacks of Levy wanting us to develop the Asian market.

Andy-B 23-01-2013 10:44

As long as he's not trying to develop the Scottish market I don't mind.

shelleyj89 23-01-2013 10:46

I have a "fan" on twitter wishing Defoe is injured for the rest of the season, and telling me it's embarrassing that I'm sticking up for him. Deary me.

Spurs v Lyon tickets now on general sale though 14th of Feb is not the best of dates to be disappearing off to footie!

Just read this on another site, which made me laugh.

Re Heung-Min Son

If we get the guy from Hamburg it will bring back memories of Cyril Knowles and we will all be singing ' nice one Cyril, nice one Son' again.

Hooper is a Spurs fan and started out at the club.....he will come home!

I actually think if he joined us he would get us goals.

I'd still like us to get Leandro but that transfer rumour will still be happening in 2023.

That's actually bloody spooky :eek::D

I'm a bit disappointed with the Spurs players who pretty much defended Hazard. Yes the ball boy time wasted, doesn't mean you can just kick him in the ribs!

I'll be flying to spain soon to clone Ronaldo and Messi :)

Interesting reading the financial results just now. I'm not so sure it's wise to all but blame the lack of CL qualification on underperforming in some areas. Obviously that probably is the reason, but I don't know .. just didn't really sit well with me.

Pee 24-01-2013 10:18

you have to be able to justify losses though, so if that's the reason, then I don't have a problem with it. Id be interested to see how these figures compare with those of the year before the CL, as that probably gives a better indication, but it's only natural that there'd be a dip afterwards.

Who has defended him?

John Salako was ranting on Sky Sports News last night, saying Chelsea should appeal the red card. he looked a total numpty, as is anyone who tries to defend this.

I've not seen anyone come out and say "What he did was right" as such, but Bale tweeted that it was unbelievable, and some of the younger players were saying they could understand why Hazard did it.

I can't quite believe the reaction of some. Yes the ball boy time wasted, but why this incident is worse when other players time waste, I don't know. And some are saying he deserved a kicking?!

Andy-B 24-01-2013 13:18

Can't read endless internet pages, if anyone can offer a simple yes/no I'd be most grateful: has Hazard been charged with any offence by the police or the FA?

Yeah, fair points. I might root around and see if I can find the pre-CL figures if i've got nothing better to do.

The police aren't taking it any further, but the FA are "reviewing the footage"

Pee 24-01-2013 14:08

Jason Cundy was defending Hazard on talksport last night, but that's not surprising because a) it's a Chelsea player involved and b) Cundy is a massive bell-end. Steve Nicol was defending him on ESPN Press Pass too.

Man U are signing Zaha for £15m? there's something very wrong with football when an unproven Championship player (albeit a seeming very good one) is commanding that sort of fee

Llorente to Juve confirmed for this summer
