Looks really fun! Like that they're bringing it to the UK too!

Hitchhiker553 23-04-2013 12:33

I felt a little underwhelmed with the trailer but it's very early days yet and as the 1st Thor movie was my favorite of the MCU phase 1's, this is the film I'm most looking to this year.

Phase 1 movies preference:

Thor 10/10
Captain America - The First Avenger 9.5/10
The Avengers 7.5/10
Iron Man 2 7.5/10
The Incredible Hulk 7.5/10
Iron Man 7/10

JaiJai 23-04-2013 12:58

Ah, mine would be

The Avengers 9/10
Iron Man 8/10
Thor 8/10
Captain America 7/10
Incredible Hulk 7/10
Iron Man 2 6/10

Goaty 23-04-2013 13:04

2014 is going to be fantastic - Captain America 2 and the movie I'm looking to most of all from Phase 2 Guardians of the Galaxy.

Motthus 23-04-2013 16:01

I thought it looked really good by the trailer.A lot different to the first film as it seems the majority of the film will be spend on Asguard with only a small part on Earth!

I'm suprised at the negative reaction to the trailer in this thread though!

SilverCrown 23-04-2013 16:20

Really looking forward to this. The first one was fantastic! :D

RebelScum 23-04-2013 16:20

Nice to see most of the cast have returned for this one.

My Phase 1 rating:

Avengers
Thor
Iron Man
Incredible Hulk & Iron Man 2
Captain America

RonSwanson92 23-04-2013 16:41

Can't wait to see this.

My ratings would be:
The Avengers - 9/10
Iron Man - 8/10
Thor - 7/10
Captain America - 7/10
The Incredible Hulk - 7/10
Iron Man 2 - 7/10

Nothing special so far.

I hope Loki's screen-time is kept to a minimum.

Getting quite a trashing these days - and will also be seen in Trek 2 and Fast 6 this summer.

Still, it's a capital city recognizeable to both US and international audiences - so there's yer Hollywood thinking for you. I love it in old films when it cuts to 'London' and we see Big Ben/Parliament as a red bus trundles past.

Trailer? I'm sure it'll please the fans, but a little bit meh coming after the other red cape, eh.

I'm kinda tending to agree with NinjyBear here. While Loki / Tom Hiddlestone is excellent, I don't want them to overuse him and for him to get stale. I'm sure there;s plenty other characters in the Marvel universe.

C. Samurai 23-04-2013 20:47

Honestly, it looks really cliche and not that much of a game-changer. Then again...which Marvel movies besides Avengers really are? Most of them don't stand the test of time at all and are just brainless popcorn filler.

I agree on both parts. Loki is cool but not so great a threat, that he should feature in every Thor film released (saying that, i guess he will be squezzed in for the third, which would complete the trilogy).

Pointy 24-04-2013 01:06

I look forward to seeing Christopher Eccleston in this one. I also hope there isn't too much Loki. If they ever use Surtur I would be ecstatic. The best Marvel character will always be Spidey though, and don't Sony know it! ;)

And while his films have been fine, they're still struggling to do anything amazing with him.

Like the pun. ;-) However, Spider-Man 2 was great for me and remains the best Marvel character film so far, plus I love the reboot with Andrew Garfield and Emma Stone (two of my current faves in cinema).

Thanks.

While Spidey 2 was Raimis best, I far from think its Marvels best. And while I'm enjoying the reboot, again I think they could do better. Not sure how, but it seems to be missing the killer punch. And I agree about the leading pair, they're very good.

Not that I think Thor is particularly better. Its on a par with Spidey for me as standalone films, but Thor is tangled in the Avengers world which makes it more interesting for me.

Trailer looks okay, nothing WOW about it though. The shots of the UK got me a bit excited !!
Yeah- and just love Loki and Tom's portrayal of him, especially the way he speaks.
Wish they wooed Kenneth Luvie back though. Really liked the first film, though it did feel rushed, just getting ready for The Avengers. But didn't feel as rushed as Captain America though, which I still enjoyed anyway.

My Marvel phase One movies;

The Avengers.
Iron Man
Thor
C.America
Iron Man 2
I.Hulk.

And looking forward to a 6 film marathon (done 5 movies before Avengers came out a couple of times!!) hopefully in a few weeks and pig out :)

Octopus_Prime 25-04-2013 00:02

My Marvel phase One movies;

The Avengers
Iron Man 1 & 2

Captain America
The Incredible Hulk
