CHVRCHES Appreciation Thread

I've been a fan of theirs for over six months now and everytime they release something new I create a separate thread about it so instead I thought I'd create an appreciation thread to post it all in. :D

Here's their new video for "The Mother We Share"
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_mTRvJ9fugM

Also their album "The Bones Of What You Believe" is released next month and is available to preorder on iTunes :)

I haven't heard a song of theirs I haven't liked yet, Lies and Gun are my favourites so far, best new synthpop band in years.

Stu_Mck5 20-08-2013 20:27

Absolutely one of my favourite new bands :D

Stripped back 'Mother We Share' from Reading fest.

I'm just finishing listening to it as I type. I don't think you'll be disappointed. Impressive debut and no skippers for me.

It's hard to pick standouts because it's so consistent but, of the new tracks, I particularly liked Tether, You Caught The Light and Strong Hand on first listen.

Stu_Mck5 24-09-2013 21:01

Finally listened to the album, have to say it's a superb debut imo :D

That and We Sink are my faves on the record.

No. 12 in the US album charts this week, might end up bigger in America than at home.

Stu_Mck5 04-10-2013 23:57

Probably more down to the fact they were just over in the US for a while.

Anyone going to any of the gigs next week?

Stu_Mck5 12-10-2013 17:19

Sooo good the other night at the ABC. Already highly anticipating next March at the Barrowland. :D

P_P 12-10-2013 17:48

The Bones Of What You Believe is even better than I expected it to be, there isn't one song on there that I'm not a fan of and there definitely aren't any filler songs. :)

Stu_Mck5 13-10-2013 20:08

Tether is to be the next single apparently.

This was the song that got me interested in CHVRCHES, it was a free download on iTunes a few weeks ago.

Agree about the album, it's a great listen. I'm not one to play the same thing over and over but already given it several listens. The first four tracks are my favourites.

Just discovered them

Awesome. Love that 80's synth sound

Lead singer is ludicrously adorable.

Video for Lies has been uploaded :)

Am very impressed with this new band. Made me dig out my old Sundays cd's. Maybe this sort of sound is due another run of interest.

Have just done a cover version of Bela Lugosi's dead for a film soundtrack.
