Don't know about Ultra HD, but the BBC and NHK...

Don't know about Ultra HD, but the BBC and NHK (Japan) are currently working on SHV (Super Hi-Vision, aka Super HD) which should be commercially available by 2020

It broadcasts in 7680 x 4320...

I'm not so sure...... I just think Challenge is being used as a cheap way of Sky retaining it's valuable Freeview EPG slot. I can't see it receiving much in the way of investment or development.
