Money can be a possibliity for a commercial broadcaster. No advertisers buying the slots in between the programmes then ITV has no programmes to air.

Exactly, you will see this in action if you watch NBC Nightly News which is shown live on CNBC every weeknight at 11.30pm and see how many times they go to an ad break within the 30 minute slot

ORACLE pages on ITV were between 100-399 with Televox on 777 and on Ch4, the pages were between 400-699 with 4 Tel on pages 401-459 so Im not sure what would have been cached at the transmitter end...

As far as I know, Intelfax maintained each of the 600 ITV services and the redesigned stripped down 300 service on Channel 4. Basically they were only allowed to transmit pages about the programmes...

Well Chris did a OFI Sunday show for ITV a few years ago. Not sure how long it lasted for, one or two series tops but I think any series was only 6 episodes long.
