There are exceptions. Showtime programmes on Sky Atlantic only last a couple of weeks. ...

AFAIA ITV HD is constant bit rate and is excellent for dramas and pretty static programmes. For fast moving sport and camera pans in light entertainment it id seriously lacking.

Anyone with Sky HD...

We had them all on Sky+. Started the first episode at 7.45pm tonight and watched all three, spun through the breaks, finished at 10pm.

Very good drama.

Me too. I think the 90 minute format suits it better than Shetland's 120m. Too many long pauses with nothing happening. George Gently works better in 90m.

On my Xperia Z tablet (which supports 1080p), Sky Go and BT Sport are of equal quality, not HD but very good SD. I have a 19mb connection. Haven't tried Now TV.

I would have thought the average non-fibre speed would be roughly the same for all providers. Why would BT be faster?
