I am pretty sure the damage of leased items (which vm is effectively leasing/loaning you the equipment) does not constitute criminal damage just simply against their terms and conditions.

I used to have 10mb broadband threaten to cancel to get myself 20mb and they gave me this hub/router/modem jobby for free. They did mention 4.95 delivery charge but dint have to pay that either.
