The other daytime DJs on R1 at the turn of the 70s were Jimmy Young, Johnnie Walker, Tony Brandon, Terry Wogan.

Tony Brandon would be gone to R2 within a year and Wogan followed the next year.

The reason that he left R1 in the mid 70s was pretty much due to the music he played and station bosses not thinking it fitted in with their daytime music policy at the time and them wanting more...
