I wouldn't blame STV for that. It's ITV's fault for showing the film in that slot. It meant that the ITV News was shown at 10:25 instead of 10:00. ITV was too lazy to think of other programmes...

ITV could have broadcast the news at 10:15, leaving the film uninterrrupted. Why does ITV regard it as necessary to broadcast the late news at 11, even if it means interrupting a film?
