That was the FOM of old, focused on battles throughout the race, minimal use of the helicopter and virtually no 'glamour' shots. It felt like a different director to Abu Dhabi and USA and definitely...

Today felt very weak, there were too many shots of the crowd or of people in the pit lane.

FOM are also growing far too reliant on the helicopter view. This is the least exciting camera angle for...

They go from strength to strength. You are absolutely right, they maintain the energy levels and enthusiasm even in dull races. It is a pleasure listening to them both even when nothing is happening...

I stand corrected - really can't tell the difference on that one. Hopefully it's a sign of things to come so that all of their CGI advertising is as high quality.

That's real isn't it?

The main virtual ad I spotted in all its 'glory' can be seen on the long shot from the hairpin before the first straight. As the camera zooms back to the hairpin it struggles...

In your opinion.

Suzi Perry isn't as good as Jake, but I don't think you can make an arbitrary statement that the BBC's quality has dropped just based on that. Changes this year:
- Free Practice...

Don't understand people saying the race was boring, behind p1 it was a true classic. If you weren't on the edge of your seat watching 4 cars abreast on lap 1 or when Maldonado battled with Gutierrez...

Fuji TV were notably absent from last year's Japanese GP in terms of trackside sponsorship and the World Feed was done by FOM for the first time. It wouldn't surprise me if the rights have changed...

Yes, great call to play in the onboard showing the move. However, the flag-waving jarring onboard shots at the end were very weak. Its this kind of behaviour you wouldn't ever see on the BBC.

Nice one Guv'nor, broke the news 2 days before it hit Autosport.

I still don't really want to believe it, but let's wait and see what the impact on the coverage is.

The commentary was very weak - Brundle and Croft were simply not on the ball. I always find the Sky commentary pedestrian compared to Edwards/Coulthard.

That said I felt FOM were also really below...

Strange, I thought he was at his brilliant best with the overtaking at the end.

I'm not sure what exactly is driving this discussion. DMN's blog had a handful of people complaining about his...

I was lucky enough to get to Montreal for Sunday to see the race. The Canadians put on a great show and it is extremely well organised.

Roebuck is a very talented F1 journalist, his articles can be second to none. But the above comments are right, he's permanently trapped in a time-warp worshipping Gilles Villeneuve. His Autosport...
