I'm glad it's Vienna. I'm not too surprised they went for Vienna (even though Innsbruck would've be nice too) as I think the Wiener Stadthalle has the best logistics for a large TV production. :)

Even if Channel 1 decided not to take part in ESC, it would be mean that RTR would just fully takeover the role of taking part in the contest instead of alternating with Channel 1.

To be fair, Eurovision was a completely different show back then. These days, the show is much more high profile and a win would certainly see a boost in ratings seeing as most people in this country...

I agree. The BBC should definitely stick with the BBC Introducing method for the foreseeable future. Hopefully, Warner Music are still open to being involved with Eurovision and future BBC...
