1.07 million watched the repeated Christmas 1985 edition on C5, not to mention those that also recored it and todays screening. Seems a fairly popular choice on C5's part and strengthens the case...

Top Of The Pops Christmas 1985 managed 1.07 million viewers on C5 - this is fairly impressive for a TOTP from 25 years ago and stacks up well to other programs viewing figures.

I agree, however it is possible to improve VHS image quality before uploading. I hold 45 editions of TOTP on VHS, I bought a VHS/DVD combi with image improvement built in and the quality is very good.
