Use card in normal (CI) CAM for now

The black viewing card will work in the new CI+ CAM so it can be moved if/when it stops working in a normal CAM. We were told card pairing would happen this year - doesnt seem likely now:) it could...

Thanks for that - so my black card will still work for ESPN but will eventually stop working for Sky Sports in a CAM?
Nagravision 3 'Merlin' has not ever been hacked or used illegally anywhere in...

Sky anti-competitive stance continues

Will new subscribers next year receive a CI+ CAM to go with their viewing card? Will it be a new type of card? Will they simulcast so existing viewers are OK or will all of us require new cards? - a...

Cards are not tied to boxes

Hi, I move my card between TVs no problem so you should be OK for ESPN or Sky Sports. If picture doesnt appear check which way up card goes in box may be different to CAM.

Activating card for ESPN channel 34

Ensure card right way up and chip end in. Look in DVB or CA menu to check CAM is seeing card. QVC channel 16 can be used for activation, took mine just a few minutes.

Good Luck to TUTV

The security complaint is spurious - there have been no hacks of the encryption TUTV use. If and only when it ever is hacked should Sky be allowed to impose this dishonest restriction on TUTV. In the...

Blocking may happen / may not

Hi, Others will correct me if I'm wrong but the potential market with CAMs in TVs is greater than with PVRs hence most of the attention has focused on continued use with CAMs. The spurious security...

Not TUTV driving this

Chris20,

TopUp TV have been forced to unofficially sell Sky Sports to people with CAMs because Sky object claiming a CAM is less secure than a paired box. Technically this is true but there are no...

Sky Sports 1 in a CAM

Hi Alan,

Yes it will work - I changed my subscription from ESPN to Sky Sports last month but adding it is just as easy. I told TUTV I had a box on their list though.

You should heed nwhitfield...

Just tell them you have one of the boxes on their approved list. I did and got them to activate a card in my CAM for SS1 & SS2. If you already have a card do it online and you can avoid the...

Cancel direct debit when you cancel sub

With TUTV and Sky and any other company always cancel the DD the same day you tell the supplier you are cancelling. You should tell them though. From my experience these companies are incompetent -...

You CAN have them without another box for a while

I was phoned by TUTV offering Sky Sports last month (already had ESPN) so I asked them to send the activation signal (Ch16) immediately and got Sky Sports (chs 41 & 42) via my existing card in CAM in...

Are CAMs a security weakness?

OK, I think I understand. Are there examples of CI CAMs allowing illicit viewing for this reason?

Yes but the TUTV staff are only quoting the position until last Thursday see

so wont use of CAMs into next year depend on Ofcom - if they...

They'll send you a card as part of the connection fee

You get a free card as part of the 20 connection fee, and 1st month free I think (certainly for ESPN) when you subscribe. The other way is to buy a card off Fleabay and see if you can avoid the...

No doubt TopUp TV will remove the block on selling SS1 & SS2 to those subscribers who admit they only have a CAM as soon as they can - but as Sky will appeal if only to make TUTV miss some sales at...
