I think it'll depend on your broadband speed to whether you receive a decent picture. But if it operates like Now TV, then the picture quality should be good.

Ah with you. No, Shaft is 4:3 on-demand which is very odd, yet its 2.35:1 when its broadcast, might be an over sight by Sky.

Why is it misleading? I receive the movie channels live and on demand just like the satellite version. Now TV is Sky just on the IPTV platform.

Stardust was broadcast yesterday in 1.85:1 on both transmissions, hence why I started this thread.Shaft (2000) is another film they had on-demand where they had a 4:3 copy before finally changing it.

Sky Movies Not Showing Films In OAR

Are Sky struggling to obtain widescreen copies of films due to others having the rights? I know they opted to show the Imax version of Skyfall, however they're not showing Stardust in its OAR either....

They did do a one-off comeback with Ant and Dec in the lead roles, with the original cast doing cameos. It didn't work at all hence why its never resurfaced since.

Yes they did and it was an error that the extended version was broadcast, with Channel 4 saying only the theatrical version will be shown from now on, which is a shame as it was a better version.

We've got a Manhattan HD freesat box and LG Smart TV, and the exact same happens to us. We have to change channel's and then go back to the Satellite channel to put it back in sync. Very odd.
