If you have Windows 7 Professional or Ultimate, you can use XP mode (virtual machine and XP Professional SP3) for any problematic programmes. If not, you can do the same with some other VM software.

It's because of the way HTML5 features are implemented. And rather than port it back to XP they decided to use it as a push towards Windows 7.
