Low revenue for the cost, it's a niche market at best, unfortunately. The number of viewers on youtube full races rarely gets out of the hundreds.

I would love to get some DVD versions of classic...

Incredible, less than 2 minutes remaining and the BBC go off air for the Daily Politics, another live show. And it's not like the session was overrunning.

It's a deliberate strategy, clearly the deal with Rolex and the others now includes the CGI advertising as well as trackside. Bernie was trying to do this in the late 90s, but it didn't succeed due...

What a shame FOM let themselves down at the end, some of the angles they have been using this weekend have been truly brilliant.

The Monaco host never shows much imagination, FOM carried some brilliant camera angles from the inside of Loews and Rascasse, which haven't been seen again. Although at least they did adopt FOM's...

And depressingly this was the camera angle from FOM in 2002 for the same corner, http://imgur.com/PtU0ddf

Once upon a time their cameras were focused on the car, not the sponsorship.

I think you are right - the few close shots we get, the Bahrain hairpin is a good example, can still look thrilling, despite the reduced speed this year.

We get quite a bit but they don't tend to...

That was the FOM of old, focused on battles throughout the race, minimal use of the helicopter and virtually no 'glamour' shots. It felt like a different director to Abu Dhabi and USA and definitely...

Today felt very weak, there were too many shots of the crowd or of people in the pit lane.

FOM are also growing far too reliant on the helicopter view. This is the least exciting camera angle for...

I stand corrected - really can't tell the difference on that one. Hopefully it's a sign of things to come so that all of their CGI advertising is as high quality.

That's real isn't it?

The main virtual ad I spotted in all its 'glory' can be seen on the long shot from the hairpin before the first straight. As the camera zooms back to the hairpin it struggles...

In your opinion.

Suzi Perry isn't as good as Jake, but I don't think you can make an arbitrary statement that the BBC's quality has dropped just based on that. Changes this year:
