Thanks for the replies. It is annoying that Sky charge for channels available elsewhere for free. it was TVE's decision though i suppose.

TVE through add channels

I understand that TVE is no longer on the EPG and now only available by add channels. Could someone please confirm whether TVE is therefore now FTA or still requires a viewing card? thanks

After the contract period ends is it possible to drop all channels, pay 10/month for sky+, and still receive BBC HD and 4HD? thanks

so am i correct in assuming that segmented frame is not an option for US broadcasters transmitting at 1080i60 (as a conversion from 24 frames can only be achieved with 3:2 pulldown)?

you could well be right, i just recall somewhere that the high end shows were recorded on 30fps film; but as i have no source for this information it is of little use!

720p or 1080p source material used for Lost, 24, Desperate Housewives

I don't have Sky HD so curious as to whether Lost, 24 and Desperate Housewives are broadcast by Sky/C4 from 720p or 1080p source material.

These shows are broadcast in the US on 720p networks but...
