So the programme isn't BAFTA-worthy material. Does it matter? The 26m in donations it encouraged on the night justifies its existence.

Last Friday's show was definitely a step in the right direction. Less emphasis on the challenges, more on the products.

If this is a deliberate way forward, then I really hope the show stays on air...
