This version of the theme tune needs to go too. Nothing beats the authentic brass band of the original (and of course the 1964 rerecording of the opening them).

The current theme absolutely stinks.

Bring the likes of Gail, Sally, Kevin, Deirdre, Liz back to the forefront of the drama instead of using them as nothing but comedy sideshows. They are all being ruined by the writing. People on here...

I've watched Corrie for 25 years or so. This is not how Liz used to be written, just mouthing off in public like that. If she had something to say, she'd do it behind closed doors (a domestic with...

That scumbag, James, is dragging the average down pretty severely. I'm sure when he's gone it will improve drastically.

Much like Gail and Sally, Deirdre and Liz's friendship hasn't really featured that much since Liz returned. In fact Liz and Sally were fairly pally years ago not that you'd have any idea of that...

I like Liz but not really keen on where they've taken the character. She used to be a lot more rounded, much less shallow and far less common.

1996 and 2001 were pretty dire, though far better than what's being made now.

The 1997 revamp however created many long term problems, especially the departure of many of Corrie's good writers.

Coronation Street was pretty tremendous in the 1989 to 1995 period. I never really appreciated at the time how good it was. Only now it's in the doldrums and looking back I realise.

No, the media doesn't as it panders to a minority group. Corrie at least tries to represent a wide proportion of the age spectrum. It is not youth orientated, it shouldn't be youth orientated, thus...

I find this thread very ironic. Corrie hasn't been great but I've seen an improvement over the last couple of weeks. So why this thread now?
