I think you're not the only one experiencing problems with Sky e-mail today.
Frankly, given its performance I don't why people bother with using the Sky portal. In any case if you use your ISP's email service you may have change if you switch suppliers.
Have a look at Google Mail, Hotmail, Yahoo instead.
When you set up the Sky details in Outlook, did you do so by replacing/amending your previous ISP details or by creating a new Email Account? If the former, try starting from scratch. I have had similar problems with Orange and Outlook (so not just Sky) and their Tech. Support talked me through a completely new Create New Account, which solved the problem.
Good luck!:)

Set up a brand new account following the guide on sky's site and skyuser.co.uk
... and oit still won't work?!? Bummer, as our American friends would say! Outlook is very important tgo me so this is one more reason why I'm not prepared to move over fropm Orange to Sky just yet. I hope, for both our sakes, you get it sorted.
Very helpful! Hope you need some help someday and get that kind of reply.
Sky Email was obviously working for the OP and then it wasn't. So what constructive suggestions can you make?
Well just call me Kermit:D I;ve been using Email since 1995 and if I can't use it by now I need to be taken out the back and shot
I think it must be that's the muppet! I thought we were trying to help someone who had previously used Email with Outlook, is now using, or trying to use it, with Sky BB, but he can't send Email. He has set up a new Email account with correct Sky settings and it still doesn't work. So with your 12 years experience of Email with or without an Instruction Manual and you were sitting at his side, experiencing this problem, what would you do?
I am interested in this as I am considering moving to Sky but have read other people on this and other forums experiencing similar problems with Email using Sky. If I decide to move to Sky I would just like to know what to do if I am one of the unlucky ones who has the same problem.
It's not a question of knowing how to use Email it's how to get it working with Sky.
A reasonable call for help on a Sky Broadband Forum, surely?:)

My reply was directed at sliprik, didn't you notice?
well im sooo sorrrryyyyyyyyy but its only email
I Didn't think that your deserved a reply calling someone who is struggling a "muppet",
"It's only Email". Some people, me included depend on Email.
Anyway, it's not solved his poblem nor convinced me to use Sky yet.
