Ben Elton wrote 'Chart Throb', loosly based on an X Factor type show, but he wrote as an outsider (ie he'd never taken part as judge or contestant).

has been a contestant so will have to be careful how she portrays her characters or who she bases them on. If any fellow contestants read the book, how will they feel if they think they can spot 'themselves' - especially if it's a negative picture
