Didn't Information TV+1's EPG listings not get updated last week or was that Showcase+1?

Is it 6pm or 6am the listings show close down, perhaps for Men & Movies+1

    It was Showcase +1.

The EPG is currently showing the close down time as 6pm on Monday.

NDS executive chairman Abe Peled has told the BBC that Monday night’s edition of the investigative programme Panorama relied on manipulated email chains that misled viewers. In a letter to the Panorama producer Alistair Jackson, Dr Peled said that contrary to the impression given, the emails in their original form demonstrated NDS’s anti-piracy activities. “You have seriously misconstrued legitimate activities we undertake in the course of running an encryption business. You have used footage to falsely demonstrate your allegation that we sent certain emails externally to facilitate piracy when in fact the email was sent internally as part of our anti-piracy work. You have also taken emails wholly out of context. This has helped paint a picture for your viewers that is incorrect, misleading and deeply damaging to my company and our sister company News Corporation.”More on this

The Australian Financial Review has added to the weight against NDS, claiming that the News Corp pay-TV technology and security specialist was responsible for undermining pay-TV companies Austar, Optus and Foxtel at a time when News was looking to expand its pay-TV interests in the country.
The accusations, strenuously denied by both NDS and News Corp, are said to have cost Australian pay-TV companies some A$50 million (€39m).
It follows this week’s BBC Panorama programme relating to piracy of the ITV Digital pay platform over 10 years ago. This story in more detail

So the question is, who's got the slot for EPG 228, More4+2 perhaps?

With the announcement of Sony Movies launching in May, will this mean a re-brand of one or two of the movies4men labels or will Sony Movies be in addition. I can't see Sony's acquisition of the movies4men (dolphin channels) retaining that branding when the Sony branding is so strong.

Now that MenandMovies has moved to 189/190, could this be a move ready to introduce the Axn branding to the UK? The programming currently on MenandMovies is very weak, so the move surely can only be in preparation for another thematic general entertainment channel?

    Update – New release for 1TB & DRX890

    on 30-03-2012 03:59 PM - last edited on 30-03-2012 05:23 PM

(Samsung, Pace, DRX780 boxes follow later)

    Hi All,

We are updating the software on most existing customer Sky+HD boxes over the coming months in order to roll out the latest feature improvements and user experience to the Sky Guide. This software has been developed to be easier and simpler to use than ever before, using the very latest design and user navigation.

We are always grateful for constructive feedback from our forum users; in many cases this significantly aids our efforts to resolve problems. We are in the final stage of trial and would like to make this new software available to forum customers who have a 1TB / DRX890 set top box in advance of mass rollout. Whilst the new look will be fixed for the foreseeable future, we will be very interested in your comments on the design together with any reliability issues experienced,

The initial rollout will be slow while we monitor results closely, and the full rollout to all 1TB and DRX890 boxes is expected to take a few months due to the large population. There will also be some fixes incorporated, plus other stability improvements, so you could be amongst the very first to receive these.

If you wish to take up this option, we will need you to send a private message to Sky+Forum+Team with the title New Release and include your e-mail address, 9 digit card Number & the 6 digit version number from the System Details screen by noon on Wednesday 04/04/12. We will then perform an over the air download to these boxes, probably on or around Wednesday 11th April.

NOTE: The new software will not be on the DR stream until later in the rollout process as the DR stream is being used as a rollback option. If you wish to receive the new software early, please not perform a DR download, if you do so, the over the air download will not succeed and you will have to wait for full rollout of the new software.

Rollback option if receiving software in this trial phase – in the early stages you will be able to roll back to the current EPG version until the new one goes on the DR stream after mass rollout, but before you do this, we would really appreciate the chance to respond or investigate the reason why.

The enhanced Sky Guide will be gradually rolled out to all of the Sky+HD boxes with the exception of Sky+HD boxes manufactured by Thomson. During the first phase of the rollout only the DRX890 & 1TB Sky+HD boxes will be updated and then the remainder of the boxes, Samsung, Pace and the DRX780 will be updated later in the year.

    Thanks,
    Anne
