Press is advertising the channels being available from the BBC on Sky. No mention of any other platforms. I assume these adverts are Skys. Where are the advertisement from the other platforms ?

And see Roger Mosey's BBC Sports blog - the BBC is pretty clear about who is providing the coverage and which platforms it will be available on:
Just to underline - this is a distribution agreement for the Sky platform and Freesat, and it's not about sharing the broadcast rights which remain with the BBC within the UK.
Currently Stream 2 (Channel 7803) is showing a testcard (BBC HD 1080 lines) and sound test (switching into BBC HD ident for a few seconds every few minutes).
The card looks good except that the lowest right grid appears similar to that two above.
Everything goes right to the edges (Overscan Off) except there appears to be a dashed B&W line of one pixel along both the top and bottom edge. Difficult to tell - but there may be one pixel missing from each side.
I have blind tuned "Other Sat" on the Toshiba TV and get all the HD channels previously listed. I haven't looked at the SD channels yet - but presumably Stream 2 SD will also show the test.
...just tuned to Stream 2 SD (7802) and only the top two grids show any evidence of a grid - the dashed line top and bottom are missing (as expected!). Every box has 'framing' of 2-3pixels and shadowing of a further 8-10.
PS I tuned yesterday evening and they were there - KofSat reckons they started deployment of the Olympic streams from 15th June. Will scan again for the missing ones.

Thanks.
When are they due on the EPG.?
( Perhaps I missed the post on that info.)
They are streams, they won't be on the EPG.
Your box links to the correct one when to press red buttons and selections.
Unless like me you are all computer based in which case I just tune then in like any other channel, give them trendy names of my choosing and put them wherever I like. I can then tune into them directly without all that red button loading nonsense.

They will be on the epg on Freesat, Sky and Virgin platforms. The BBC have already confirmed they will.

Oh sorry I stand corrected. As they were called streams, I wrongly thought they would be treated as such. They should be called Temporary Extra Channels then.
That's good news as people will be able to go directly to them.
All the SD streams have even numbers and all the HD streams have odd numbers so they all if nicely in a 48 stream errr ummm what is the collective name for streams?

Obviously freesat doesn't have the advertising budget that Sky has so don't expect a major campaign (if any) from them.
Hope the link works

Yeah, saw him to. Felt sorry for him just sitting there lol
anyone know what the purpose was for him to set there doing that? A/V sync? If it was A/V sync surely they could have used a VT

11469 H: 03 SD, 06 SD, 09 SD, 12 SD, 13 SD, 16 SD, 19 SD, 22 SD
12129 V: 02 HD, 08 HD, 17 HD, 23 HD

Sounds about right!
Maybe a torrent of streams? A meandering of streams?
A cascade. A spout, A gush, A spurt, A streamplex, A streamponder and any combination you fancy
How about HexOctoStream.
No that would be 86 streams - I think it would be a QuadOcto or an OctoQuad stream for 48 streams.
