Killing of Victor Meldrew was a horrendous thing to do. If the sotcom had a few years to "rest" the possibilities for a 2012 Christmas special would have been endless.
With Tories back in power, heating bills, kids with even less respect, customer service worse than ever, and new technology such as Nintendo Wii.

Other big mistakes creating ITV and BBC channels when the very little decent content could fill the original channels. The decent stuff that used to be on BBC2 is on once in a blue moon on BBC4 and the few decent comedies on BBC3 should be on BBC1 or 2, the rest is surplus inane filler. ITV2 has no redeeming features. ITV3 and 4 are Gold channels and may as well be repeated on ITV1 in place of the endless repeats of Midsomer and Rosemary and Thyme.
the Wii came out in 2006!
casting McCoy as Dr Who
Taking no interest in cricket coverage &then crying foul when it moved to Sky after the Ashes triumph
On that bombshell...I'm off.
One Foot in the Grave was, in my opinion, funny as hell! It's well known that some series creators make terrible mistakes. I've got this whole series and Christmas specials on DVD in a box set.
I actually agree with you there. Sometimes it's just best to let things end.

Changing The Bill from an excellent, police procedural show, to a ridiculous overblown drama, where every week seemed to feature either a copper being attacked by a nutter, or a copper being a nutter.
It wasnt even minor changes, i think it varied from starting at 9pm to anywhere up to 10:35pm.
True that.
It was a gripping, if somewhat inaccurate, show that deserved a second series as it had a lot of potential.
