UK Top 40, keeping informed of new entries into the chart
Hi,
I'm looking for a good source of info about new entries into the UK Top 40 each week. Since the end of Top of the Pops, and my no longer listening to the radio, I totally miss out on songs that come and go in the chart without me being aware of them.
My current source is to record the MTV UK Top 40 show each week, but with it being 3.5 hours long, it's a tedious way to check out only "what's new".
Does anyone know of a good way of being informed each week about the new entries into the Top 40? I don't mind if it's an RSS feed, blog, tumblr feed, twitter account. Anything like that is fine. I can always filter it to remove artists that don't interest me.
I'm just looking for something more efficient than a 3.5 hour recording that takes half an hour to fast forward through.

There's quite a few websites that post the UK top 40 each week. You can check the Radio 1 website for example, or the OCC's website.
If you go here you can find the latest top 40, and it's quite easy to see the new entries when it's in written form: http://www.officialcharts.com/uk-top-40-singles-chart/
For example this week's new entries (check for songs labelled as "NEW" or climbers from outside the top 40):
Ke$ha - Die Young
Imagine Dragons - Radioactive
Imagine Dragons - Hear Me
The Script - Six Degrees of Separation
Ladywell Primary School - O Holy Night
And re-entries:
Taylor Swift - I Knew You Were Trouble.
Pogues ft. Kirsty MacColl - Fairytale of New York
Mariah Carey - All I Want For Christmas is You
Athlete - Wires
That only took me a couple of minutes, so it's quite quick to do. Especially since at the moment the charts are extremely slow-moving, you only get 4-5 new entries per week on average.
http://www.bbc.co.uk/radio1/chart/singles/new is probably what you are looking for. Five seconds job at 7pm every Sunday.
No more messing about with Google or MTV 3.5 hour recordings
