I'm interested to see what the Sound of Music gets. It's on every year and I always watch it and judging by Twitter so does everyone else!
Presumably you saw the BBC2 documentary Climbed Every Mountain:The Story behind the Sound of Music which was shown twice over the weekend ? Pointed out the implausibility of the story and very interesting including an interview with the last surviving von Trapp family member.

Just out of interest, did anyone see the HD version on BBC1 HD yesterday, and if so what was the quality like? Was it better than the rather paltry 'HD' showing of Mary Poppins last year? I had meant to catch it, but completely forgot it was on.

Saw some of the last 20 mins or so (I could not stand much more than that), it was very good quality-wise.

Thanks for that. Hopefully it'll be on again soon in HD.
Was a bit dubious - I caught a bit of Bedknobs and Broomsticks supposedly in HD on Sunday but could see no difference between SD and HD when flicking between the two channels.
Are you sure that it was supposed to be in HD, and not simply upscaled? Many older films need remastering and in some cases extensive frame-by-frame restoration & colour correction for a successful HD transfer - the recent Channel 4 showing of Zulu is a prime example.

It was billed as being in HD in Radio Times and on the Virgin TV guide.

Did see it. I know there's a huge amount of dramatic licence but its still a fantastic film! Reminds me of watching it with my aunty in happier times.

.... or the usual tweeters haven't hauled their asses out of bed yet.
Overnights delayed...
Yes Hassan already told us that.
Maybe BARB are having a lie in.
If you can find them I say you can do them.

BARB clearly did...
I noticed slight timing changes for BBC1, BBC2 and BBC HD, but wouldn't have thought that would cause much delay.

Probably all to do with the New Year Live ratings, maybe they were pretty high compared to last year
Perhaps BBC2 could show the German version as featured in the docco:D
Yes would love to see that version!
