MUTV to move EPG slot from 406 to 418 on Monday 4th February

418 currently occupied by Sky Sports 2 SD

Wonder whats going on with EPG slots 406 & 407? (BT or SSF1 HD moving to 406)

Just seen an advert on Sky Sports suggesting that 'MUTV' is moving EPG numbers on the 4th February. It's new number will be EPG 418 (currently Sky Sports 2). Anyone any further info on this change, or other changes to the Sports genre?

Gotta be BT. They need 4 slots after all (main channel plus spill-over, SD & HD).

BT is not launching until August, is it? The other possibility is that Sky Sports F1 is moving two slots up the EPG.

Sky have just closed six SBO channels, so they've potentially got six SD slots they can use. A wild guess here but it wouldn't surprise me if Sky launched Sky Sports Extra, or another placeholder channel, onto the EPG. Something like-

    401 Sky Sports 1 HD.
    402 Sky Sports 2 HD.
    403 Sky Sports 3 HD
    404 Sky Sports 4 HD
    405 Sky Sports News HD
    406 Sky Sports F1 HD
    407 Sky Sports Extra HD
    408 Sky Sports 1
    409 Sky Sports 2
    418 MUTV
    435 Sky Sports 3
    436 Sky Sports 4
    439 Sky Sports News
    440 Sky Sports F1
449 (or 441) Sky Sports Extra

There isn't any point in having the HD channels and SD channels at the top - as you (would notmally) have one or the other.

If you're Sky, to make sure your competition doesn't get such prominent EPG positions?

    Update

'JML Cookshop' has been removed from Sky EPG 667.

Currently showing "Arqiva test card" off the EPG on 12.560 V, 27.500, 2/3.

Note: Not sure when 'JML Cookshop' was removed, presumably Friday 18th February?

At last !! :) MUTV is finally moving down the Sports EPG.

I did wonder if something was afoot with MUTV as the channel stopped BARB reporting at the end of December.

Yep, which should mean the EPG 407 position will at last be used, rather than sitting vacant. :)

JML Cookshop has been removed from the JML Direct website. Perhaps they have sold their EPG slot to QVC? QVC HD and Sparkle TV are both meant to be in the pipeline...?

Was JML Cookshop also on freesat? There's a gap at LCN 814 but not sure that was it prior to it's removal?

According my lists & info, Freesat EPG 814 was 'Speed Auction'.

'JML Cookshop' is (or was) Fressat EPG 809.

Cheers, think your right. They removed JML Cookshop from Freesat some time back if it was that on 809 and swapped it for JML Living according to JML's wikipedia entry.

So just to confirm, Freesat EPG 809 as of now is 'JML Living'?

If so, I've now updated my list, thanks for that.

Yep, that's correct. You should publish a list for Sky and Freesat EPG's online seen as wikipedia for some bizarre reason decided to delete theirs!

overnights.tv is reporting that More 4 HD will launch and start BARB reporting on Monday 4th February. Viewing will be aggregated with More 4.

Disappointing (if correct) for those of us hoping for a launch this Thursday. No word on Film 4 HD's launch on Sky yet.

Maybe in the future, but not now. I'm quite busy so wouldn't have time to update it.

That's quite strange, wouldn't have thought 'More 4 HD' would need another two weeks testing. Other new HD channels have usually launched about a week after starting video & audio testing.

Hopefully it'll be added before the 4th Feb.

Thought it had moved - just could not remember the old frequency!

AriseTV seems to be based in Czech Republic.

If this is so then maybe if we ask Sky nicely they will at least put The Good Wife's first two episodes in HD on Catch Up!

Especially as it is THEIR fault that those with non Sky HD boxes and a sub can watch in HD but they have chosen to prevent their own box customers tuning it in.
