There's always the possibility that the break for these two shows was pre-planned, with the rugby date known about well in advance, and that they will re-surface for their final two episodes from 9 February (barring any more rugby clashes).
Then again as you said, it provides a very good opportunity to "lose" them, and perhaps burn them off in the summer.
A 45 minute slot between the rugby and Britain's Brightest? That was definitely meant for Secret Service.
Animal Antics will probably be scheduled as was always intended taking weeks off when the rugby is on.
