I already said that I feel empathy/sympathy with parents who's offspring have committed a heinous crime, as it was them that brought that person in to the world, & guilt would be a big factor there I would think.
You then followed that imagined scenario with a comment about such people not needing a handout anyway, thereby displaying a lack of understanding for what the Out There charity does, plus an inability to conceive of any genuine requirements for their services that might trigger your empathy button.
