I do like Lorraine but I am finding Aled quite anannoying with his attempt at humour. Sometimes he is just not funny and I think Lorraine looks a bit embarrassed.
If there were a ban on Lorraine saying the words 'great', 'absolutely', 'fantastic', 'brilliant','so,so,so' etc. her contribution would be almost non-existent. Aled, however, is finally finding his feet and taking more control of interviews and adds a nice touch of humour imo.

I find them both annoying. I really want to like aled because he seems lovely. But you are right about him trying to be funny. It just doesnt come across
I can't stand either of them! i much prefer ranvir and matt - when they finish at 7.00 i switch over! Aled and lorraine/kate feel like embarrassing relatives at a family party after a few shandy's!:o
The guests Aled expertly interviews on Good Morning Sunday and Songs of Praise ("the biggest karaoke in the world" as he calls it) are usually inspirational / spiritual people who have someting entertaining, interesting and worthwhile to impart. Although both GMS and SOP could be said to be serious programmes, Aled still is able at the same time to keep the chat light hearted on them. Like his divine singing voice (in both high and lower registers) this additional ability I believe is a second God given gift.
Aled is entirely unsuited to a partnership / marriage with/ to a fast talking Scots, giggly/ hard to understand, hardened celeb follower. His specialised interviewing skills demonstrated on GMS and SOP, which quickly bring out from his interviewees what 'makes them tick' (or doesn't 'make them tick' in some cases) are wasted on guests, the reason for whose appearance on the programme is to promote their new book, cd, film or ITV show.

You have just got to be joking!...............he is not bad at presenting Daybreak at best but is definitely annoying at times with misfired humour and 'mugging' to the audience.......its hard to put one's finger on it but there is just a lack of rapport between him and Lorraine so it just won't work.
Matt Barbet would make a better main anchor and John Stapleton could do the news hour.
With Aled removed from GMS and no longer main SOP presenter, the most we are going to see him advert free on national BBC Radio 2 and BBC1 TVI is when he sits in for DJ's or when they can't get anyone else. What a demotion for no reason..
Aled Decided to leave, he announced it on his twitter a few weeks ago, "5 early mornings is enough, I will miss Radio 2 though" Is what he said if i remember correctly

Bit of a gamble considering the high turnover of Daybreak staff. The ratings do seem to be going in the right direction though.

Spot on. Daybreak is now suffering from an overdose of Lorraine. I just can't stand her brown nosing up all the celebs backsides, and her inane giggle just does my head in. It's got to the stage that I watch BBC now, and only watch Daybreak on a Friday when LK isn't on.
And Ross King is just as bad - now he's adopted that strange american accent and thinks we all need a daily feed on what z list celebs are doing.
It's just sad how much this programme has gone backwards since its launch in 2010. The current team seems disjointed. Ranvir is ok, but not brilliant, and the rest of the team is too mismatched. Laura Tobin is dreadful in links.
The team doesn't have the feeling as the original team had. It's such a cliche of a breakfast programme now.
It broke the mould of a stuffy breakfast show in 2010, now it's just same old, offering the same as the shows before it.
I like the 6-7 presenters
Lorraine can be hard to stomach sometimes - as lovely as she is I am not sure how she has managed to stay around
finding good presenters is clearly harder than any of us can imagine?

Erh ranvir is fabulous, she is more than just okay. Trust me I've watched the fabulous lady for years
And this morning with Brian Conley on the show - if he'd been in the studio.I'm sure Lorraine's nose would have been stuck up his bumhole. God does this woman fawn over "celebs".
(And before you ask, the wife insisted on Daybreak being on - as soon as she's out the room, I switch back to BBC)
That just dawned on me too ppaupy! Confused me for a moment- i am sure Lorraine said yesterday that Kate would be interviewing the xfactor contestants on her show today

No more GMS, no more main presenter SOP, ITV?
When the BBC announced Bill Turnbull was joing SOP recently they said Aled would continue as a presenter as well.

Aled was pushed. See:

Daybreak ratings poor and not improving.
If anyone thinks they have proof to the contrary of either of the above then please reply with it.

With the other considerations above, what prospect for Aled then?.

Sub-headline "He explained that he's stopped taking them after 15 years to Lorraine Kelly, which is a good idea because she's very lovely to chat to"
WTF is that about?
