I started 3 months ago. I'm not claming to know the world, but there's a lot of obvious things which the managers should know, but they just don't. A lot of them rely on other people to do their work. It's quite odd.
Probably because they have no management skills and have to use smileys to get their point across
Exactly. I do that ...
This job is now just a means to an end. I was planning on trying to progress there but I just don't see it. I kind of regret leaving my old job, where I was doing really well. However, the pay won me over.
I'm sure I'm not the only person in my position. I need to work because I like it, but this job is dreadful.
In my occupation, I get to play with bones, rummage in holes and come up with all manner of theories as to how the bones and other things got to be there, and what that meant. Those are the good bits.
That's when I'm not writing up dull but necessary reports for my supervisor and spending far too much time on here.
Yeah, but there's no point moaning about the manager unless you are prepared to get off your arse and manage yourself. Or do what your conscience tells you and take the responsibility for it, if you think your way is right. If neither of those work - get a new job.

So the managers aren't managing, other people are?

It's not me who has the problem, I've just been in the situation plenty of times.
My supervisor is great.
Calm down people... this is just my personal experience of my new job. I really dislike it for various reasons and I intend to get a new job ASAP. It's just awkward to do at the moment.
My manager is great, but it's others who are not so fantastic.
The best aspect of my job is my holiday I'm on and still three weeks left.
Otherwise, working for that greedy cwunt who is my boss just to help him get richer and buy a new car every year, well, perhaps I should see it in a way if it were not for that cwunt I would be even worse off than I am at the moment.
Why do you do the job you do then Laura?
Can you not find a new job?
I'm a student and I need the money, I'd look for a new job but I really can't be bothered as I've only got a year left maximum before I leave anyway. Any new job I found would be most likely the same as what I am doing now.
Getting to the end of a project, explaining a concept to a student and watching the penny drop, having papers published and receiving my payslip all give me satisfaction...
Standing back and looking at a room I finished decorating after it looked like a complete shithole before. It made it all worthwhile.I wish I was paid the way musicians and singers were paid. For years and years and years after for the same job.

God yes!
And when someone thinks I have done something wrong only for me to prove it was their fault all along!
I am motivated rather negatively these days.
