Right this is not intended as an argument to see which is better, I am just curious as I've always had either an XBOX or 360 and I find the controller and buttons fluid and easy to use but recently I have been using my partners PS3 and I can't get the hang of the controller at all so it makes games more difficult to play, is it just something you adapt too?
The reason I ask is that is my sole reason for not currently wanting the PS4

The PS4 controller is similar to the Xbox controller now in terms of size, grip and feel. So it's a marked improvement.
Dualshock has always been the best controller for me though. I just can't process how the analog sticks on the Xbox are not symmetrical.
I have never really been bothered by stick placement on controllers but I can say that as I transitioned from young boy to an adult with PlayStation, my thumbs can clash when on the sticks as they are so close together. I'm glad they are at least a little bit further apart on the DS4.
They're picking it over the Xbox One controller and many saying the best controller they're ever held!
Looks like Sony have taken a leaf out of Microsoft's book and made the DS4 a bit bigger. Shouldn't be too long getting used to it.
Sounds good, always been an XBOX fan but must admit I am swaying towards the PS4 now, plus I have to admit I think the graphics on the PS3 are indeed better than my XBOX.
It, like most things, is personal preference.
I like the 360 because it is big and chunky. My brother, who has hands like the face of a shovel, prefers the dainty DS.
I ended up getting an 360 like controller for my PS3, much much better.
(Side note: The original xbox controllers, the very first set, I had one of those. That was something to behold, it even felt a little oversized in my hands, god knows what it was like for young uns)
I've always preferred the daulshock controller though, simply because the original dualshock was my first experience with analogue sticks and i've gotten used to them both being on the inside, it just feels wrong when they aren't
You will adapt and the DS3 can be a capable controller depending on the game but they are very different so if you're extremely used to the S-controller or 360 then you'll always notice it.
To answer your question. you will get used to it as I did with the 360 controller.
I'm the same as you.
But i got a 360 controller to play Grid2 on PC, and am getting used to it.
I'm just downloading the free copy I got with my shiny new Haswell processor (bragging intentional ). Is a it good racer?
No. Grid was good. Grid 2 is a horror show.
