The classics like home alone 1 and 2 and what's on e4 right now night at the museum both of them, as well as more i can't think of immediately right now.

For me it's mainly simple films that I can switch on at any time and watch and it makes me feel warm.

Even though I haven't watched it in a while (must rectify that!!), I've always loved "House Party". Such a simple premise but a fantastic soundtrack and just a nice, upbeat film.

Disney films, Notting hill, stuff like 13 going on 30 and Matilda. I really love the Spider-Man films and Harry Potter too.

Happy go lucky is my favourite film for making me feel happy and positive. Wonderful film. Poppy is one of my favourite fictional characters of all time. Sally Hawkins is brilliant.

Aladdin, 101 Dalmatians, The Jungle Book, Toy Story, Monsters Inc, A Bug's Life, Shrek etc. They are all stories of adversity but with hope and a positive attitude things can turn around. I think most children's films are a good source of positivity.

That film annoys me to no end! I HATED it more than I've ever hated any film. (In fact - I'm usually pretty easy going about films and struggle to think of any other film that I'd say I 'hated'.)

It provokes such a ridiculously strong reaction in me (and I admit my reaction to it is stupidly extreme) that my friends like to mention it every now and then because I inevitably launch into a rant (a bit like this one).

I do have a good friend who enjoyed it - it sort of made me question our friendship. :)

Edited to add: I am happy to say though that I agree Sally Hawkins is a really good actress. I've seen her in other roles and manage to forget the horror that is Poppy!!

This made me mile for some reason. :D At least it got a reaction from you. Fair enough, not the one they wanted... haha. It is one of my favourite films though. I love Mike Leigh' work.

Sally Hawkins is brilliant. I saw her in Constellations in London in December and was blew away. It was incredible.

My reaction makes my friends laugh as well - it is so clearly out of proportion with simply not liking a film! I generally like Mike Leigh as well....

I was sorry I missed Constellations - glad to hear it lived up to expectations.

Nightmare Before Christmas, Monsters, Inc., Tangled, Peter Pan, the Toy Story series, Brave, Up, Wall-E... in fact, most Disney movies. I may cry a little at some, but they all make me happy and fuzzy inside.

Matilda, the original Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory, Ever After, Stardust.. tonnes more too.

Your reaction is very amusing. I love Mike Leigh's work. Sally has been in a few of his films.

Ah, that's a shame you missed it. It was incredible. I was captivated from the minute it started. She did do her Poppy voice at one point though so it's probably just as well that you missed it haha. It was emotional though. The woman next to me was crying her eyes out.

The Carry On films and the Universal old black and white horror films, makes me think of happier times.

Also agree with the Home Alone films, can watch them at any time, not just christmas.

Ah! Flight of the Navigator that was one of my faves as a kid, I wanted that little alien as a pet!

I was big into The Neverending Story and Labyrinth also as a child.

The Adjustment Bureau and Amelie have been the most uplifting films I have seen as an adult I think, well recently!
