Bruce Lee, international icon and the inspiration behind most people starting Martial Arts training (including myself), died 40 years ago today at just 32 years of age :(

I also practice Karate. I joined my local Karate club in 1980 because of Bruce Lee :)

Brilliant - and funny and charismatic. I adored him.

Saw all the movies so damned often I knew all the words.:o

    And took up Karate.

Tragic that he died so young, and that his son died young too.

A good entertainer but not a proper martial artist!

Yes that was rather cruel, yet rather poetic. Given the film set in which he died on, and the nature of the story concerning the film.

One of my favourite films ever.

He was certainly not up to Bruce's athletic ability and martial arts skill. Bruce's number one priority was his own style of martial arts. He did absolutely everything he could to improve his fitness and skill.

 And? People born today include: Sir Edmund Hillary, Dame Diana Rigg, Chris Cornell, Natalie Wood, Josh Holloway, Sandra Oh and Carlos Santana.

    Yes.
Well, to be precise, an ingredient called Equagesic in a headache tablet that he took, caused a swelling of the brain. :(

My bedroom wall was covered in 'Enter the Dragon' posters in the day. IMO, almost every frame of Bruce in that movie could be a poster.

I was too young to enter the cinema through the front door but by other means I still went to see this movie every day for a week

Nobody has come close to having the same screen presence that he had in the last 40 years and I doubt that anybody ever will.

He was Chinese. I'm a bit puzzled as to why you thought he was Indian.

It might be because he was a celebrity.

He was actually born in San Francisco, so he was actually American !
His father (Lee Hoi Chuen) was a famous Opera star in China.
His mother was half Chinese, half German.
