I'm glad I'm not the only one that thought this, I've had a look around and nobody else seems to have brought this up.
It did seem a bi too coincidental for me.
Just to let you know it has been brought up in several threads about the Time Lord woman.
Speculation includes that their punishment is to become The Weeping Angels as seen in Blink.
Rassilon says their punishment will render them 'statuesque like The Weeping Angels of old', or lines to that effect. This suggests the tw oTime Lords do not become the Weeping Angels, but will suffer like them.
It does now you have been nudged - glitchy thing which happens sometimes where you can see that a person has posted but their post doesn't show up until someone posts again after them.
So we know it was the Doctor's mother that was in TEOT, but what about the man? Any ideas about him??
Slight contradiction there, it was never confirmed that the woman was the doctor's mother and we all know that the Doctor's mother must be human cos of the Doctor being half-human
Saying that, I wonder if the woman helped the doctor "time-lock" the timelords cos she feared where her race were going cos they believed themselves to be all powerful etc

Can of worms now open.:rolleyes:
Actually, that's probably the best argument yet for her being his mother- shows his mother is a Time Lord, hence he was definitely lying about the whole half-human business! (That or he'd been zapped by half a chamaeleon arch recently).

forgive my ignorance on timelord mating rituals, but why couldn't he have got the half human part from his father? equal opportunities and all that.
In the TV movie, the Doctor claims "I'm half human. On my mother's side."
Thanks (Note to self: rewatch McGann) I guess that means the woman isn't a purebread timelord then, and has emigrated. Unless he's telling porkie pies of course.
Sorry i should've quoted what he said in the movie
and even if RTD and SM didn't believe in their eyes that the Doctor was half-human
they would have to make some feeble attempt to explain why he quoted that in the movie, especially since the doctor is the 11th doctor and the series are very somewhat linear about his stories
According to a comic strip Ive got called the forgotten it claims the 8th doctor lied about his half human trait to fool the master, although I dont know for what purpose

I think it was just purely for effect.
Really? It shows for me.

Unless he was lieing, joking, making up that story to grab the id Tag from the official.
Or he may well have been half human to fit in for that story but I don't think he was for RTD and won't be for Steven Moffat.
