Really stupid question about connecting iPhone to wifi..,

Hello. Hoping someone can help?!
When trying to connect to my friends wifi, whilst my phone locates the modem, it does not allow to join - doesn't even give me the option to enter a password. She thinks its my phone (iPhone 4 - works fine on mums wifi, brothers wifi, my wifi etc!), but my phone does detect both her neighbours wifi AND gives me the option to enter a password... What's going on?
