Films and TV shows look very familiar, straight off Sony TV, Sony Movies and More>Movies?:D
It has an "mm" dog in a box. The m is very similar (but not the same) style as that used by movies4men/more>movies. I managed to switch it on just as a programme was starting, so missed any ident/announcement which might have helped identify the (owner of) the station.

The real question is... why not call it more>movies on Freeview too? As said, the trailers do refer to Movie Mix not More>Movies! In fact, they've just played a generic "we are Movie Mix" trailer advertising themselves as "the channel for whatever you're into". Presumably you have to be into whatever More>Movies happens to be showing.
Encouraging news! Most (if not all) films & progs been on tv before, but it does give more choice again. Will be interesting to see what tv guides start listing this channel (as it's showing progs 8am-c.1am) then that's as much as 5USA, 5* etc.. ! At least it's on the EPG now.
movie mix looks like it could be a nice addition to the freeview platform now that we have full service, nothing new or original but certainly extra choice in key areas and less teleshopping which is always a bonus in itself.
Perhaps the different branding is part of the transition to comply with DMOL/Ofcom rules about new channels.
Big Deal - teleshopping + movie. Renamed MovieMix but same content. Then the content changed after a set amount of time to just movies. Then, after a similar set amount of time, another "rebrand" to more>movies.
That way, they can claim its the same channel but with a few minor changes after the minimum time required.

Presumably there as been a change of ownership, Square 1 were the operators of Big Deal and Sony Pictures Television own the More>Movies channel. Or maybe it's a franchise arrangement between these companies, which could be a reason for the different name.

Isn't Square 1 just a small premium rate phone service provider? I thought they just provide sex chat etc services .How come they appear to hold licences for a number of channels? Do they actually operate any??

The new movies & TV movies from the Sony catalogue on More>Movies don't seem to be solely male focused, I presume that was the idea of dropping the Men&Movies brand to give it a wider appeal for the launch on Freeview, movies coming up:

Movie Mix (Freeview) and More>Movies (Satellite) are running the same schedule, they're just using different branding.
There must be a good reason they've chosen not to use the More>Movies name on Freeview?
Regardless of the name issue, this is one of the better channels to launch on Freeview in recent times.

I expect the channel to be renamed More>Movies in the coming weeks, and recieve substantial promotion then.
In my opinion its a shame the channel is not purely a movie channel, but it still seems a welcome addition.

Yes, pretty much when the vast majority of channels carry teleshopping. I wonder if anyone will miss having films on there at 3am.
