Melodifestivalen 2013 So Far! How Would You Have Had It???

I must say I am terribly unimpressed with Sweden lately. They go from getting it so right one year to completely messing it up the next. OK... all hope is not yet lost but they are passing up some great songs, songs which I will KILL for to represent the UK.

So then... if you were the sole decider of which songs progress to the final, what would you choose?

Here is my list:

David Lindgren "Skyline"
Yohio "Heartbreak Hotel"
Swedish House Wives "On Top of the World"
Sean Banan "Copacabanana"
Eddie Razaz "Alibi"
Janet Leon "Heartstrings"

2nd Chance
Michael Feiner*& Caisa "We're Still Kids"
Martin Rolinski "In and Out of Love"

Heartstrings is by far my favourite, despite the fact that I think all of the above are cracking songs. It baffles me how half of them weren't even picked.

    Final
    Heartbreak Hotel (Yohio)
    Burning Flags (Cookies 'n' Beans)
Make Me No 1 (Felicia Olsson)
On Top Of The World (Swedish Housewives)
In and Out Of Love (Martin Rolinski)
Hon Har Inte (Caroline Af Ugglas)

    AC
    Skyline (David Lindgren)
We're Still Kids (Michael Feiner & Caisa)
    Begging (Anton Ewald)
Hello Goodbye (Erik Segerstedt & Tone Damli)
    Heartstrings (Janet Leon)
    Falling (State Of Drama)

Overall, nothing has been outstanding in Melfest so far this year. I'm not holding out too much hope for Semi Final 4 either.

If I had it my way :

    FINAL :

    Yohio - Heartbreak Hotel
    Anna Jarvinen - Porslin
Felicia Olsson - Make Me Number One
Louise Hoffsten - Only The Dead Fish Follow The Stream
Martin Rolinski - In And Out Of Love
    Elin Petersson - Island

    Second Chance :

Eric Gadd - Vi kommer aldrig att förlora
Michael Feiner & Caisa - We're Still Kids
Erik Segerstedt & Tone Damli - Hello Goodbye
Rikard Wolff - En Förlorad Sommar
Caroline Af Ugglas - Hon Har Inte
    Janet Leon - Heartstrings

Second chance qualifiers would be Caroline Af Ugglas and Erik Segerstedt & Tone Damli.

As you can see in the final, I hate the majority of cheesy, tuneless pop in this year's contest. Which makes my eyes go out on stalks when I see TC's selection :P

My song to win so far would be Martin Rolinski.

Terrible year for Melfest :( In danger of being as bad as 2010 for me.

It seems that Sweden agrees. Shame though. I guess for me, I always see Sweden as sending something very up tempo with a great catchy beat. When I see them putting though ballads (which I think are boring) in place of upbeat songs then I get frustrated. I have no idea what they are going to send this year, but at this rate I'm hoping for David Lindgren or Yohio. :/

A lot of decent tunes, but some entirely bizzare voting I would say, last night in particular having horrendous results. The SF's also seem to be really unbalanced in terms of quality, too.

    Final
    David Lindgren
    Anna Järvinen
    Louise Hoffsten
    Anton Ewald
    Janet Leon
    Eddie Razaz

    Second Chance
    Cookies n Beans
    Jay-Jay Johnson
    Erik Segerstedt & Tone Damli
Swedish House Wives (only because I disliked it slightly less than everything else, I hated this SF)
    Amanda Fondell
    Martin Rolinski.

I think Louise Hoffsten is my choice to win of those actually still in the contest, but overall Janet Leon's song is my favourite so far.

I'd have kept the same finalists up to this week, where I'd rather have had Caroline & Martin in the final. My Andra Chansen would be:

    Eric Gadd
    Mary N'Diaye
    Erik & Tone
    Anton Ewald
    State of Drama
    Janet Leon

Not in Sweden. I think DQ - Drama Queen was a second chance winner in Denmark.
