On it's own? Of course not - and I'm surprised you jumped from what I said to that, as that is a big leap on your part and a huge assumption of bad faith towards me.
She deserves punishment because she's libeled someone's name in her never-ending quest for attention, obviously. But I'm pretty sure you know full well that's what I meant.
Has she libeled though? Technically, all she has done is ask a question on twitter. I'm surprised the case has even gone to court to be honest.
Police are investigating 54 alleged gangs in a crackdown on child grooming in England and Wales, peers have heard. http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-22617339

Much as I dislike the man (and always have), I agree. As with others.
Can I ask, where does it say that the person alleging the offence hasnt been interviewed etc?
Its not that I dont beleive you, im more inclined to think, to an extent that lots of people are jumping on a band wagon.
Im am of the opinion that, like many people of the UK probably are, that there is something very very fishy with the whole thing.
Yes, am sure that something has gone on somewhere in the past with maybe one or two individuals. But for so much to come to light now, when frankly most of the accusations will be one word against another?

All very strange
I dont think it says the accusers haven't been interviewed but it says that Jimmy Tarbuck hasn't been.
So anyone can make an allegation no matter how ridiculous, and the accused may be able to disprove it as soon as they are interviewed, but its too late once its been splashed all over the papers and their reputation is destroyed for ever.

Marking up your TV card for you.
The Hunt for Britain’s Sex Gangs, C4&HD 9pm, tonight
We watch as police raid the home of the suspected ringleader and see his interrogation. We hear from victims (“I felt my mind was shattered like a glass,” says one). Then we learn how in court, victims faced a new ordeal, repeatedly asked why they were lying by waves of defence barristers. It’s a shocking account of police work at its toughest and a powerful argument for changing how these cases are tried. Radio Times
In The Report, Melanie Abbott investigates whether there really have been improvements in getting justice for both victims and the accused in these complex cases. What results can the public expect from the millions of pounds being spent on Operation Yewtree and the new investigation into abuse at North Wales care homes? Those who have suffered false accusations, and those who have gone through the heartache of failed attempts to prosecute their attackers reveal the human reality behind police and legal actions.
Delighted that Sally Bercow has been recognised for the troll that she is. How anyone can possibly defend her tweet as "just asking a question" beggars belief.
Sadly, like i4u says, I doubt any fees or fines will make the slightest dent in her life.

It does prove, as I've said in a variety of threads this morning, that we don't need any new internet regulation though.

And once again, the named person hasn't even been questioned by police!

Good report spoiled by an unnecessary and tasteless photo.
I have no doubt someone like her would know how to swing something to make herself look like little miss innocent.
You've summed up right here why I have such a huge distrust/dislike of Operation Yewtree.

This is very good and well worth a listen.
Described as "seducing" in the newspapers if it is a woman but "grooming" if it is a man.
The double-standards are shocking and disgusting, aren't they? I speak as as woman myself.
