I was thinking along the same lines, that maybe it was Charlie's way of saying how much mobile phones have encroached on our lives with someone always ready to take a photo on their phone.
Agree with both. I was also thinking of the paparazzi and the obsession with the celebrity.
I only just found out about Black Mirror, and I love Charlie Brooker's shows and their concepts, especially Dead Set as I love Big Brother.
I think I've got up to date now with all the Black Mirrors, apart from The Entire History Of You (i think that's what it's called) and I have to say it is very gripping. I think Lenora Chrichlow has amazing acting skills.
Glad to see I'm not the only one baffled by the first part so far.
Mobiles are dangerous and they send you crazy....haha you heard it here first!:D:p
... It's called science-fiction. Seriously. Go read The Very Hungry Caterpillar.
As for subliminal coding in advertising, the idea is very old and has been used successfully. This is taking the idea to an extreme but, you know, that's why it's science fiction.
What on earth was Charlie Brooker thinking when he wrote this? He has one screwed up mind I think..
Not screwed up. It's totally accurate. Remember when you were in school and two people had a fight and everyone got out their cameras? Well, this is just an extreme version of that.
So we're 30 minutes in, we don't know anyone's names, why the black girl doesn't know who she is, why the signals affected everyone, why the signals appeared in the first place, why the hunters weren't affected and kill people and why other people weren't affected.

And yet my eyes haven't left the screen once
