I can't believe that some of you guys have not gone multi region, especially considering how easy and inexpensive it is these days...practicaly every single film mentioned on here as unavailable is on R1.
Why would you wait years and years and be continually frustrated at not being able to get hold of a movie you love, when there is a simple solution?
Is that in the UK shops though? Don't see a BBFC sticker on it.

Why do you assume most people here don't have multi-region? The thread is about which films may not be available not which films people are waiting for.

Some people may not have the option. I use my PS3 as my DVD/Blu-ray player in the living room - and that cant be un-region coded.
I dont have space to fit another DVD/blu-ray player.

I did the same for years...and after a while I got fed up with not being able to play certain films...and worse still, as my PS3 was being used as my main blu ray player the damn thing burnt out...YLOD (look it up).
Gotta be careful with that, using your PS3 as your main source of entertainment.
So decided to buy a proper blu ray player, and went multi region. Never looked back.

Possibly released abroad but don't think it's had a disc release in the UK.
That's a good one.
Song of the South was released on VHS in the UK, it wasn't even released on VHS in the US. There seems little prospect of it ever coming out on dvd anywhere, Disney seem to think it'd be more trouble than it's worth. Although who knows if they'd be accused of promoting racist stereotypes now, given the film is 66 years old.

It may not be in the shops, but it is available on Amazon. So anyone who wants it can buy it.
And as to your second point, I have pointed out that nearly every film mentioned on here as not available IS actually available on other regions. If a person says a certain film is not on dvd and it is on another region, then it's reasonable to assume they are not aware of this, and therefore are probably not multi region.
Its not an official release, someone has just transferred the VHS onto a disc and is probably substandard in quality. Most people would probably see that and not buy it, especially given the price.

I wouldn't recommend doing that, the copy on Amazon is a bootleg. Song of the South has never had a DVD release, so it'll be copied from either a VHS or laserdisc version.
Have to say I am surprised Amazon would allow a bootleg to be sold on their site, and even more surprised that Disney would not have intervened and asked for it to be removed.
I know ebay used to be full of such things, but they have clamped down recently (Used to see lots of bootleg copies of The Keep on there, but no longer).
Still say that technically it's still 'available' though...you can buy it...though admittedley not entirely legally...but then again if Amazon are daft enough to allow it on their site...

Seems even more stupid when you can easily buy Birth Of A Nation on DVD over here.
But they are both clearly available on DVD from Amazon...???
Yeah, on Region 1 and I do not have the resources to play a Region 1 DVD. Monster Squad, the TV series is available on Region 2 but its the film we need.
The River Rat
Shy People
Looking for Mr. Goodbar
The Sterile Cuckoo
Tell Me That You Love Me, Junie Moon
Suburbia
The Wizard of Loneliness
Charlie and the Great Balloon Chase
Independence Day (1983)

A few that I remember are,
The Silent Partner
Innocent Blood
The Dove

I came on here to post Monster Squad but I have another, Teen Agent (If Looks Could Kill - America title) from 1991:

Wrong - see link above.
People seem to have forgotten that I did make it clear in my original post that I said available on any region, not just region 2 or blu ray region b.
Silent partner (though not sure which version you are referring to)

Innocent Blood -

The Dove - yep, no dvd or bu ray release...a few boots and rips from DVD, but certainly never officially released.

Thanks but I would only bother getting them if they had a proper UK released version. I have recordings of both which will suffice for now.
Edit: I have reread your original post and see that you were talking about media from any region so my bad.

So what's wrong with getting a 'proper US released version'?
