'Sin City: A Dame to Kill For' to shoot this summer
The Sin City sequel is now official, with Robert Rodriguez and Frank Miller announcing today that the film will begin production this summer in Austin. The title will be Frank Miller's Sin City: A Dame To Kill For.
According to a press release, "the script and details of the film's story have been kept tightly under wraps. Casting will begin next week, with many of the original cast expected to return." The film was "developed by Frank Miller based upon his graphic novel, with a screenplay by Frank Miller and Academy Award winner William Monahan (The Departed)."
Glad they're finally ready to start filming - I've been looking forward to this since seeing the first one. Production will start after Machete 2 finishes filming, so that's 2 films for me to look forward to next year
Mel Gibson and Michelle Williams are rumoured to be up for roles.

I hope it isn't just A Dame To Kill For, the first film managed to fit in The Hard Goodbye, The Big Fat Kill and That Yellow Bastard, as well as having some parts from The Salesman. A Dame To Kill For certainly wasn't longer than any of those, the longest story was the trippy Hell And Back, which could easily be it's own film.
"I’m doing the sequel to Sin City. That would be Sin City 2. I’m going to Ft. Worth, Texas, and there is supposed to be some sort of a symposium or some Sin City panel where we’re going to talk about the film. I’m looking forward to that, too."
Of course he's returned, he has an important scene in this story
Two words...
The Spirit
*shudders*
"[Rourke is] all excited to come back, but he's probably the first one," Rodriguez told MTV of returning players. "I saw Rosario [Dawson] too. I ran into her for something else, and she's pumped. They've always been excited about doing another one, so that will be fun."
I wonder who they'll get for the Dame tho ? Angelina Jolie would've been perfect a few years ago
It's such a shame Brittany Murphy is no longer with us, as her character Shelly is the only one to appear in all the comic strips.
Went into the first one expecting to hate it.
Loved it.
Robert Rodriguez and Frank Miller are co-directing the movie, which is scheduled to shoot this summer in Austin Texas. Jessica Alba will be back as Nancy Callaghan. The film will be converted to 3D.
There’s a sequel to that dog?!?!?! In God’s name why? Easily one of the worst films I’ve seen in the last 20 years. Rodriguez needs to prove he can still cut it with Sin City 2 and that he’s not been terminally infected with Tarantinoitis: The inability to competently direct whilst simultaneously thinking every line of dialogue you write is brilliant and cannot be edited.
Agree about Tarantino.
So did i. Loved the cheesiness of it.
