So much pressed uncute tragic music snobbery in this thread hmmmmm, insecurity and low self esteem is sad to me. Do you think caring disproportionately about how credible or uncredible an act is perceived to be makes you look sophisticated and cultured? How cute. Newcomers are so adorable.
Meanwhile Carlegend Reify JepSonofgod, Allahvril Lavictory and Cherhovah Llegend remain defecating from above on the combined discographies of all the bands you mistakenly think that liking will make you look credible tee hee hee.

This is why it's dangerous to post in the middle of the night. You wake up the next morning, read it back and go 'Oh My God, what was I thinking when I wrote this !!:eek:
I thought Carly Rae Jepsen's songs sounded okay on the radio, but then I saw her attempting to sing live on ToTP and thought 'oh no'... in this day an age, when being able to project your songs live is more important than ever, I don't think she's going to be able to keep a long career going.
I like Bryan, he is a plus point, one of the best live acts I ever saw to be honest.
Of course, Rush are one of the biggest and best bands of all time too.
I have to say, go and check out the blues and roots scene in Canada, some of the very best music in the world right now...JW Jones [ my favourite album of 2012 ], Ben Racine Band, the new Let's Riot! Music label from Nova Scotia...lots more too....
What's wrong with Carly Rae Jepsen? Call Me Maybe is a great pop song and her albums are both very strong, She writes her own material, she has a nice tone to her voice and she seems like a nice person and good role model. I don't see the problem.

(Although you may want to sort out that American spelling )
But we gave you one direction cher lloyd and jessie j
I don`t think she happened over there? so i think we`re stuck with her for a bit longer
I like Avril Lavigne.
and Nelly Furtado. Go Canada!
God, there is a lot worse around than nickleback.
And of course you gave us bryan adams and the legendary Rush.
I think canada has given us far more great artists than bad ones.

Or maybe, just maybe they really do think said acts are shite and are just having a wee bit of fun in what's supposed to be a light-hearted thread?
Anyway, back on topic- I'm willing to forgive your country anything for giving us Leonard Cohen so you can sleep easy.

Thank you Canada for Justin, Carly, Bryan, Nickelback and Avril all who have released some of my favourite ever songs (Bryan and Nickelback)
This^^
I like to thank the BBC for introducing me to Sarah
Several of her songs appeared in light-hearted Canadian police show Due South
Actually those were pretty great back then
