If you don't like Tamera, what can she do to win you over?

Anything?
Or have you decided and nothing she does or says will change your view?

Rock/indie chick
And that is her problem. Singing by numbers impersonation of whomever performed the song she is singing. She isnt ready, she has the voice, but she doesnt have the ability to put her own emotion into a song, all she can do is copy what she has seen, that makes it all a bit dull.
her other problem is that as good as she is, Sam B does the big voice thing better.
She's always smiling on stage.
This. She has all of the parts but they're not quite joined together yet. It is a couple of years too early for her.
I really think 2 or 3 more years to grow as a person and really know herself would make all the difference
But they have changed her into a Beyonce wannabe, she is not a good as Beyonce at the ballads and on a family show it would be uncomfortable to watch a 16 year old wearing the stage costumes and performing the dances that Beyonce does for the more up tempo numbers (or is that just me).
And like a lot of people I think it's too soon for her she needs to learn her craft. Trouble is I think the producers just saw a young Beyonce and want to have some of that market and its not working IMO
I don't think the over hyping does her or anyone any favours. In terms of talent she does have it, but she is no Beyoncé and certainly no Whitney, she can't compete with Sam B when it comes to the power ballad stuff. I think she should go on and be her age and be more contemporary, perhaps show a more urban edge which is difficult with the themes. This week was a good opportunity to show a younger more fun side, but it was the long dress, big hair and another ballad.
Actually, I thought she did just that on Saturday.
I would agree, that it was "just another ballad," but it was a much more controlled/restrained effort and a really nice version of a beautiful song and she didn't feel the need to add "too much spice, too many notes," as is customary these days..
I think there's a school of thought out there that the only way to move audiences is to continually belt out these histrionic ballads, which always puts me in mind of my favourite quotes from the original "Hairspray," film when Tracey Turnblad's mum burst into the room, turns the T.V. off and says...."alright young ladies, I've had just about enough of this screeching music!"
When I hear people like Tamera in her normal mode, I feel much the same..;)
Unfortunately, going "subtle," didn't get her that many votes, it seems.
I'd like to see her go for a total "Rock," number, a-la Tina Turner, for example..

And I Have Nothing = disco? It's a power ballad
Really good post and it made me think. I have said I found her unlikeable but your comments are very true. I think a couple of years or so would make all the difference and there is no doubt she can sing but just needs that time to mature and develop and not become a Beyonce tribute act.
That was her sing off song, nothing to do with Disco! Not karaoke at all in fact. Considering the pressure she held it together really well until the end. Much better than Hannah last week!
Quite a lot actually, she should get started right away.
I agree about that song again, but I'm not sure the sing-off is bound by the rules of the main show, so I'm pretty sure they're given the freedom to choose whatever they want and think will save them?
Actually, it could be argued that "Wishing On A Star," isn't really a "disco," number, but just a ballad written during the "Disco," era..
Just because Rose Royce is well known for singing a "Disco Classic," doesn't make her a "Disco Artist," necessarily..
It's like saying that everything the Bee-Gees did during that era was "Disco."
Abi, on the other hand, IMO, did take a "Disco Classic," and to use that overworked phrase "made it her own," if indeed, that was her arrangement.

Abi was awful IMO - what message does 'singing' I Will Survive in a timid, whiny style send out?
I've said exactly the same thing before she started the live shows. She has the right ingredients but it takes time to develop. She does need another 2 or 3 years before she is ready and that's coming from a Tamera fan. In some ways, I rather if she didn't make it in JH and come back 2 years later. Anyway, now is in the live shows she can get some exposure
Totally agree but even if she could, she would still be wholly nauseating as a person.
Never met her, wouldn't know!
