They really aren't giving us many options on who to vote for next time around are they!

Think I will vote for one of the lower ranks next time around.

Hey, Mackie. It would be great if they would come and pay us a visit - just to say hi. I remember Mackie and her acorns being scattered all round the thread. :)

On the Movies forum there are threads as follows:

What is your favourite Hitchcock film?

Pretty in Pink - a discussion about this brat pack film

    On Music:

American Idol, The Voice, X Factor, are they dying?

Lady Gaga smoking cannabis - apparently she did this on stage live!

On Advice the threads are very diverse, from house moving to gay relationships, moving to the other side of the world to should xxx item be dry cleaned :D

i like the idea of bringing in topics to discuss.......

i dont think many items ever need to be dry cleaned........!!! in this day and age...it should be washable!!!:D

Anyone seen Nick Clegg's 'apology' for breaking the LibDems pledge not to put up student tuition fees under any circumstances whatsoever. :p
BUT he never apologised for putting the fees up.

wouldnt it be wonderful to have an politican from any current party...being honest enough to admit they might make mistakes and get things wrong...

I loved the headlines today...that cos 50% of schools are saying that the extra funding for poor students isnt having any benefits......the assumption is that it cant be being spent properly so ...more time and resources are going to be spent checking up on its effectiveness...by the schools themselves

What about perhaps thinking that the money...isnt actually enough to make enough of a difference?

If you are having to provide, lunch, breakfast and fruit, and uniforms for children who are too poor or come from families too inadaquate to provide these things.... all this costs the school a fair amount to provide....

and there is such a difference in a school in a nice middle class area with a supportive PTA who can raise quite a bit to buy extra resources for the classroom and to pay for kids to go on school trips or subsidise them heavily, or to buy in a school pantomime/play ....to a school in a poorer area, whose PTA cant raise very much at all....so the school budget has to cover all these things...

if a child is too worried or unhappy to learn, it isnt goiing to make that much difference if you leave them hungry and dirty and just throw extra lessons at them....:(
