Should I bother to watch Lost all the way through?

So I saw the first couple of series when it first aired Channel 4 and I was relatively interested. But then I missed the first half of series 3 and that's when I got completely lost (No pun intended)
There's no argument about the fact its a show you have to dedicate your full attention to to keep up and my dad has all the box sets so me and my friend want to go through them.
Is it worth watching it all? Do the mysteries get solved? I hate nothing more then a show ending with loose ends

Do all the mysteries get solved? No
I have just saved you about 48 hours of your life, you're welcome.
The biggest mystery of all was why the big guy didn't lose weight.
I, for one, would say yes. Most of the mysteries were solved, it's just that some people didn't necessarily like the answers.
No not all the mysteries get solved which is a bit annoying but most of them do. I found the ending to be very very weak though but i don't think you'd regret it if you watched it! Some very good storylines and shockers along the way!
The best reason to watch lost is for the great characters and character interactions, which really make up the majority of the enjoyment in the show for me. I would recommend it, but then I love lost, so maybe I'm biased!
About 99% of the questions were answered, but there were some that were not and if they were had really bad or weird explanations. I spent plenty of time researching the show between episodes and i loved the way it ended.
I think most people didn't follow it like me and so didn't understand that most questions were actually answered. Everyone i spoke to has said that this question wasn't answered or that question wasn't answered (e.g why did pregnant women die on the island etc,,,) and what they don't realise is that the questions were answered in certain episodes or with a certain comment form a certain charcter. So having watched the series about 3 times now i can say the show does make sense but it was clear that they were delaying the story/adding in irerlevent bits during season 3 when they were trying to decide on a season limit with ABC, the tv channel.
So if you were interested in the first 2 seasons and like the idea of the show i say watch it. Prepare to be confused and if you can try and remember all the stuff shown/said as it does all add up in the end. It's the people who didn't take the time who say that it doesn't make sense or that all the questions weren't answered.
Sure there are a few ways i'd have changed the show to make it better/story flow better/make sense. But i think the writers did an ecellent job and it's still the best show of it's type till this date.
All i'd say is that season 3 is boring. but if you stick to the end season 3 has the best cliffhanger on any tv show ever, and it gets better from there.
But I would say the show as a whole is worth watching at least once. It's an interesting story if anything, you might actually enjoy it. It's best to form your own opinion rather than base it on someone else's.
Maybe watch season 1 again and if you are interested in the show continue.
It's certainly enjoyable and an entertaining ride. If you love the characters and feel a real connection to them and their lives you'll love the ending. But if you are fascinated by the mysteries of the island and looking for a fully fleshed out plot then you'll be left feeling a bit frustrated.
The thing there is that half of the questions were answered.
The first question "why did the smoke monster take the pilot?" has an inferred answer as soon as you learn what the smoke monster is and what it wanted.
And the questions about Walt cannot be answered and only have inferred answers due to the fact that Walt was not able to shoot any episodes after s2/3.
So this video is pretty much all answerable.
I chatted once with a man who said that many questions were unanswered, but when I asked him to name some, he said pathetic things like why there were polar bears, and were the numbers cursed. He obviously did not even watch it. Of course for some of the explanations you have to pay attention.
I agree, the amount of stupid questions people ask is ridiculous. Like i said 99% of questions were answered. Sure there are some where you have to look hard for the answer or remember something from a couple of seasons back, but thats what i love about the show. Easily the best show of the decade.
"Because it's MAGIC! Ooooooooo" /wave hands
or
"They mean nothing, nope, just coincidence"
Not all answers are good answers
So annoying seeing all the potential and knowing how things end up. And yes, when it was initially on telly I would follow all the back-matter and ARGs online. There was so much there that they just didn't follow up on. Literary allusions pointed to that ended up making far more sense and being better stories than Lost ever could (thanks to the creators of Lost for getting me interested in, and reading, Kurt Vonnegut, for example).
There are times in the show when it's obvious even the creators were confused
Even though the Lost: Video Game was dire and could be completed in 3 hours, even THAT made more sense than the whole 6 series worth of TV. In fact, a totally different program, The Lost Christmas (rough around the edges redemption/supernatural/time travel story), does in 90 minutes what Lost failed to do in 6 series...
Ugh!
it's not entirely unenjoyable and it seems like it seems a good idea but the longer it goes on the longer you realise it will last, and ultimately you begin to suspect there will be no pay off at all.
Would I watch it in full again? Doubtful, but I will definitely watch certain episodes again and the final episode, which for me was weak, but then maybe I will change my mind second time around.
I would recommend you watch it all otherwise you will be missing out on a major piece of tv history, not flawless but is there such a beast?
Personally, I enjoyed it all the way through.
